Honeycrisp Apple Manchego Tarts
Ingredients
- 1 sheet packaged puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large honey crisp apple, thinly sliced
- 6 oz manchego, crumbled, divided
- 1 large egg
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 Tbsp honey, divided
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Roll out the sheet of puff pastry and cut into 12 equal squares.
- Create a cut along the inside of the squares, about 1/4″ from the edge, leaving two of the corners intact. Lift at the cut corners and fold over on another to switch which corner they are touching. This will create a twist effect at the other two corners.
- Sprinkle half of the manchego crumbles onto the puff pastry squares, then top with slices of apple. Drizzle with half of the honey.
- Whisk the egg and water together to create an egg wash. Brush egg wash over the edges of the puff pastry.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown. Top the tarts with the remaining manchego crumbles, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with fresh thyme and kosher salt.
